Introducing Look Lab

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Look Lab, a brand-new software package designed for anyone who uses eye gaze technology.

The software features a comprehensive collection of 38 accessible games and creative activities that will help people get started and challenge their skills as they progress.

Practise your eye gaze skills

Developed in consultation with SEN teachers and professionals, Look Lab activities effectively nurture 12 different eye gaze skills. Each activity encourages users to engage with the screen in different ways, including hitting targets, dwelling, tracking objects and moving the cursor around the screen.

There are also customisable options for each activity. Easy mode allows users to explore activities at their own pace, free from the fear of losing or running out of time. Standard mode introduces a competitive edge, where activities increase in difficulty and include time constraints and limit attempts to win.

Who is Look Lab for?

Look Lab introduces eye gaze in a positive and motivating way for AAC users of any age, including teenagers and adults seeking more mature games and creative activities. It is ideal for people who fall into the following categories:

• Just getting started with eye gaze for the first time and seeking relaxed and pressure free ways to practice
• Progressing from early cause-and-effect skills
• Looking to practice their eye gaze accuracy and precision skills to help with using more complex programs
• In search of fun and motivating activities during leisure time
• Wanting more advanced and challenging games
• Seeking ways to express themselves creatively through accessible art and music activities

The software gives AAC users the autonomy to select activities and modify settings independently, and seamlessly access Grid communication software to have a chat or recalibrate their eye tracker.

The system requirements for Look Lab are as follows:

Processor: A minimum of 1.6GHz quad-core CPU.
Graphics: A graphics card with a minimum speed of 200MHz.
Memory: At least 4GB of RAM.
Storage: A minimum of 2GB of free disk space.
Operating System: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit only.

Look Lab also supports head pointer access. Perfect for anyone who uses Quha Zono, HeadMouse Nano or Smyle Mouse.

What makes Look Lab different to Look to Learn?

Look Lab offers a broader range of activities when compared with Look to Learn. There are also more options for teens and adults who are looking for more challenging and age appropriate content.

Look to Learn remains a great option for younger uses trying eye gaze for the first time.

Which eye gaze cameras does Look Lab support?

Look Lab supports Lumin-i, Alea, EyeTech TM5 and Irisbond cameras natively and other camera via Computer Control
