By selecting buttons in Grid 3 you can:

Read aloud a paragraph in a news article on MSN
Create a new playlist in Spotify
Choose a subtitle language in Netflix

THE TECHNOLOGY

Join-In is designed for applications that are dynamic in nature and that undergo occasional changes and updates, such as Facebook, Zoom, Instagram and so on.
Join-In uses innovative technology to ensure that the user experience is not negatively impacted by these changes by maintaining a consistent user-experience even if the application is updated or altered, and enabling quick recovery in instances where changes in an application affect the AAC flow. As some important components of Join-In are cloud-based, the recovery process is usually transparent to the user. From the users’ perspective, everything happens in the background, without requiring their involvement.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM JOIN-IN?

Join-In caters to Windows-based AAC users who want to join the digital life.
Regardless of their access method.

Eye tracking users (using eye gaze) enjoy a highly efficient solution combining selecting AAC buttons with direct selection of objects from the browser area
switch users can perform all the desired activities using a standard AAC button-based solution
direct access users using touch screen benefit from a protected environment, combining large AAC buttons with a dynamic virtual keyguard.

Whether using text or symbols.

Text users enjoy full application capabilities, including most advanced functions, while working in a friendly AAC environment.
Symbol users can use their communication app to write texts, search, and comment, and have text read aloud for them in all apps

For many of the supported applications, Join-In users can select between Full and Lite versions

The Developers & Our Relationship

The Join-In Apps have been developed by D-Bur, who are another of the Smartbox partners. They are based in Israel and the very talented team have created the Join-In apps to work with Grid 3. Zyteq is the Australian Smartbox distributor, so we import, distribute and sell Grid 3 and we also import and sell Grid Pads. We can now resell the Join-In apps which we purchase from D-Bur.

How to Try Join-In Apps with Grid 3

Grid 3 is available for a 60 day trial period. Head to our webpage here FOR GRID 60 DAY TRIAL

Join-In is available for a 30 day free trial. Click the green button to take you to the D-bur webpage to register for the 30 day trial.
Choose Grid 3 as the software you will be using the Join-In apps with. You will need to use this with your Grid 3 or sign-up for the Grid 3 software at the link above.

How to Buy Join-In Apps

There are three options for purchasing Join-In after the 30 days free trial.
1. We offer the perpetual license also called the lifetime subscription. This means the Join-In Apps are owned outright and upgrades and changes are included.
This is a license purchased from Zyteq is Australian dollars. As NDIS registered this may be the most economical and suitable way to purchase.

There are two other subscription options available directly from D-Bur.

2. Monthly subscription for $10 USD a month.
3. Annual subscription for $100 USD a year.

Grid 3 is not included in any of the pricing for Join-In apps.
Grid 3 can be purchased separately from Zyteq and is supplied installed on Grid Pads.

Installation Instructions & Training Cards

Close all open Join-In windows, and close Grid 3.
Click “Install Join-In for Grid 3”. This will install both the Join-In software, and the Join-In grid sets.
During the installation you will need to select your language, access method (Eye-Gaze, Switches, Mouse-Dwell or Touch) and the preferred cell size option. You can always go back, and check other options. To do this click the “Install Join-In Grid-Sets only” button.
Note – if you already have grid sets with identical names, these grid sets will not be deleted. The installer will save them, and will add the word “backup” and the date to their names.
Activating your license, subscription or trial period:
- If you have license code – search for and open the Join-In license manager on your device, enter the license code and activate it.
- If you have subscribed for a free trial or have a paid subscription, use the grid-set Join-In Login and enter the email you’ve subscribed with, and the password you’ve received. After doing that you can exit the login grid-set and start using Join-In.
