The Mobi 2 is supplied with Mind Express 4 and The Grid 2.  The Grid seems to be quickly finding its status as the most popular Windows AAC software in the world.  It provides a powerful AAC platform with numerous grid sets ready to use or modify, for example PODD, WordPower, Beeline, SymbolTalker, Vocabulary For Life and many more.  The Grid is optimised for many alternative access methods and Mobi 2's Environmental Control module.  Grid 2 is supplied standard on the Mobi 2 with Australian Acapela child and adult voices, symbolstix and PCS, and all other standard features.

Mind Express is supplied standard with Australian Realspeak, Picture Communication Symbols (PCS), SymbolStix, Sclera, Bliss and Mulberry symbol libraries.  Mind Express 4 features a QUICK EDIT mode which makes programming of symbols cells with image option, text and cell label readily accessible in a menu bar at the top of the grid page.

• Based on Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) tablet with Intel Atom ZG 530, 1.6 GHz.  
• Memory: (improved spec from March 2014) 2GByte DDR2, 80 GByte SSD.  This is a solid state memory with no moving parts.  This helps to minimise impact damage to the memory storage and means no cooling fans are required.
• Access: resistive touch screen;  1 or 2 switches with numerous scanning modes in Mind Express 4; can be turned ON with an external switch press.
• Portability: suitable for wheelchair or table mounting using the in-built stand.  For mounting on a wheelchair, table or other furniture a Daessy quick release mounting plate is supplied in-built; a mounting adaptor plate for Rehadapt Monty system is also available (pictured under Images); supplied with a carry bag with handle or shoulder strap, and padded flap for use.

AAC The Mobi 2 is supplied with Mind Express 4 installed and licensed with Australian Realspeak.  

Mind Express 4 is the latest powerful dynamic display software program from Jabbla. Mind Express has been used widely in Europe and U.S.A.for many years. Mind Express 4 is very user friendly and features a Quick Edit Mode amongst its updated features.  Mind Express 4 pages can display symbols, photos, whole words or text-to-speech, with word and sentence prediction for generating messages for communication. Australian Realspeak is used to speak the messages or digitised speech can be stored using the in-built microphone.  A range of sample grid sets provide functional starter pages for communication using symbols, keyboards, whole phrases, in addition to some games, calendar, camera, photo album, music and movie player.  Mind Express is supplied standard with Australian Realspeak, Picture Communicaiton Symbols (PCS), SymbolStix, Sclera, Bliss and Mulberry symbol libraries.  Mind Express 4 features a new QUICK EDIT mode which makes programming of symbols cells with image option, text and cell label readily accessible in a menu bar at the top of the grid page.Other programs can be installed but please check all software computer requirements prior to proceeding.

The Mobi 2 is supplied with an additional license key on a USB stick; this is the hardware license key. This can be used on any computer to run Mind Express, so a suport person or family member can edit or update Mind Express 4 pages on a computer and then transfer these updated pages to the Mobi 2.

Can we install Grid 2 or other software on Mobi 2?

The Mobi 2 is designed, developed and manufactured by Jabbla in Belgium.  The Mobi 2 received an update in specifications in 2015 and now happily runs the Grid.   The processing capacity is now enhanced but we would recommend a more powerful computer if the use will involve multi-tasking with a number of programs open simultaneously. The Tellus 5 and Tellus 5 Intelligaze would offer this extra computer power for the “power user.”
